THEATER
Tamasha’10 invites all the sensitive students linked with field of theatre to kick off monotony of your respective lives and get set to go with the harmony of your emotions that are coming your way through this part of event. For the rest, it will be an edifice in which dramatic performances or spectacles will be exhibited for the amusement of spectators.
Theme:
The philosophy of Tamasha is centered at the “Awakening of youth” or “Jaagoo”, we have kept an open theme for the event and expect to have all types of concepts. Teams can opt for either serious or a humorous theme.
Play Time:
- Max 20 minutes (including a 5min setup and exit)
The Theater Team will be providing the following:
- Overnight accommodation package to the participating teams.
- Due to accommodation constraints, teams need to inform us about the number of participants they are bringing along maximum by 6th Feb. Around 25 participating members will optimally be entertained. In case of participating members increasing the prescribed limit, please contact us beforehand.
- Please inform us about the details of your props with your script package.
- Tamasha is committed to help you stage a quality production. We will provide you with the following materials:
Sets(Heavy props, e.g. , Beds, tables, shelves etc)
Lights(stage and spot lights)
Sound
Hall Management
Backstage crew(optional)
Rehearsal slot
One Tamasha member will be allotted to each team for assistance during the event.
Wings will be provided at both sides of the stage.
Tamasha will provide the teams with a personal computer for music and narrations.
The teams may use the available microphones during their performances.
It is requested that the teams bring the soundtracks of their performances either on usb or audiotapes with appropriate back up as well.

MOVIE NIGHT
Purpose/Objectives: This sub-event not only aims to amuse the spectators but also aims to make them learn a lesson that they don’t wish to learn directly.
Theme: Theme of movie is decided as “ Breaking the Silence”. Short movies should be in accordance with theme else authorities have the right to cancel it.
Language: Teams are free to choose any language from Urdu or English.
Eligibility:
The competition is open to students from institutions all over Pakistan.
Each institution can send in 2 teams, each consisting of 3 to 5 members.
Registration fee for the event is PKR 1000/ per team.
Event date: Part of this event will be carried out on 12th Feb,2010.
Time Duration: The video should not exceed 10 minutes.
Material Limit
- The video should be in ‘.wmv’ format.
- Unnecessary text, logos, or any other identifiable markings should not be found within the video. This includes subtitles and TV logos. Insertion of text, by the group itself, for the purpose of furthering the video concept or story is allowed.
- The videos must not include any obscene, vulgar or objectionable material.
- Also include the following details (as a printed copy) with the media for each of your entries:
Real Name(s) of creator(s) and Institution Name
Team ID
Email address
Postal address
Video title
- Source for any non-original material used in the video should be mentioned.
Prize: There will be a prize for the best video/short movie.
Jury
The Jury shall be composed of independent experts, including in the field of intellectual property.
The Jury will serve until the official announcement of results of the movie night competition.
The composition of the Jury may be changed at any time, if circumstances so require.
Jury Functions
The Jury will review the entries and select the best short movie/video on the basis of originality of thought, effectiveness of performance, along with special consideration in fields of acting and script. The Jury reserves the right not to award the prize if, in its opinion, none of the videos merit award.
Final Decision:
The decision of the Jury is final and is not subject to an appeal.
Announcement of Results.
The Jury shall conclude its selection process and communicate the results to the competition officials by 14th Feb,2010.
Note:
- All submission media (CDs or DVDs) become the property of the FAST and will not be returned to the creator(s).
- Videos may be rejected for any reason, at the judgment of the Committee. Not all submissions will be shown on the day of the event. If your video is rejected, coordinators may attempt to contact you to discuss possible edits or alterations that would make it acceptable.
- Submitting someone else's video or impersonating someone will result in immediate disqualification from the competition.
- All participants must abide by the general guidelines established by the TAMASHA organizing body and refrain from passing any derogatory remarks. Any team failing to do so shall be disqualified from the event.
- Tamasha Committee reserves the right to change the rules of the event without prior notice
